About This Property

This charming hotel is situated between the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea and green, pine-covered mountains in the small coastal town of Kas with its narrow, jasmine-scented streets and cosy cafes. Visitors can enjoy various activities in the region including trekking, climbing, sea kayaking, or observing colourful fish, octopus and turtles while scuba diving at the numerous artificial wreck sites. The area also boasts a Hellenistic theatre, many ruins of ancient cities and several caves, some of them underwater. The hotel's 36 rooms are bright and elegantly decorated with air-conditioning and balconies to better appreciate the stunning sea views. There is also a restaurant serving a buffet breakfast and poolside terrace bar overlooking the sea and leading down to the water, where the hotel has its own private, rocky beach. This is an excellent place for those who enjoy outdoor and water sports or who wish to take a deliciously relaxing holiday in the sun.

Things to do in Kas

About Kas

Coming from the Turkish word for 'eyebrow', Kas consists of a curved bay caressed by the the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean with idyllic wooded hills in the background. Radiating out from Kas harbour are many quaint tea gardens in traditional Turkish style offering shelter from the sun and a place to watch the world go by. And when the sun sets the town comes to life animated by friendly bars and cafes. Kas is not a rowdy place, though, so is ideal for couples or families with young children. Kas really has managed to hold onto its traditional character, perhaps because it lies a little farther out from Antalya and Dalaman airports meaning fewer visitors, which only works to its advantage. The town retains a more traditional Turkish feel than other resorts.

Beaches and Swimming

For those who can't resist cooling off in those inviting Mediterranean waters there are flattened limestone platforms with descending steps or ladders leading you into the beautiful blue waters below. If your holiday's not complete without feeling the sand between your toes though, a stunning sandy beach can be found by heading over to Kaputas just off the breathtaking road that connects Kas and Kalkan. Kaputas is popular with the locals which gives it a far more authentic feel than the slightly overcrowded resorts. You can get to Kapatus by catching a dolumun to Patara and descending the steps down to golden sands below. There are no facilities so ensure you've got plenty to drink and eat and everything else that you'll need to enjoy a perfect day's bathing.

Accomodation

Kas can cater to all types of visitor when it comes to accommodation. There are over 60 hotels, pensions and self catering apartments in the town for you to choose from. Some are located right in the centre where everything is within walking distance, and others lie just a little farther out but are connected by public transport. There are also luxury villas to rent to make your holiday extra special.

When to Go

The summer months from June to mid September are best for sun worshippers and for those who like nothing more than cooling off in the pool or plunging into the Mediterranean. With temperatures reaching between 32-33C in July and August that's the ideal time to go if you like it hot. September and October are a little cooler.

Kas will make an ideal resort for those who want to avoid the crowds and sample a little authentic Turkish culture. Some great last minute holidays to Turkey can be found with Jetline and there are some truly fantastic deals to Kas just waiting to be snapped up.
