When to go to Costa del Silencio

Rain is rather scarce and blue sunny skies are pretty much guaranteed between May and October. During the summer, hot winds from the Sahara can bring daytime temperatures to the high 20s and visitors can enjoy up to 10 hours of sunshine every day (especially in July and August). Sea temperatures are warm enough for swimming and for practising water sports until the end of October, and even during the coldest month (January), temperatures rarely go below 21°C.

In terms of beach life, one of the best options is in Las Galletas, a sandy beach located within walking distance of most hotels and ideal for families with young children due to its shallow waters. Las Galletas beach is also a great snorkelling spot. Many visitors venture beyond this resort to explore other first-class beaches, such as nearby El Medano, Los Cristianos, or Las Americas, which can be reached from Costa del Silencio easily and inexpensively via public transport.
