Sa Coma Holidays

A family-oriented town on the eastern coast of Majorca, Sa Coma features a golden sand beach and an array of lively resorts and restaurants. The resort town offers a more relaxed atmosphere than Magaluf on the western coast of the island. Evening entertainment and fun are typically centred on hotels in and around the town rather than bars and clubs.

When to Go

Sa Coma is a year-round destination. Summer offers sizzling temperatures and the most sunshine, although it is also the resort’s peak season. Temperatures regularly reach over 30 degrees during July and August, while the mercury dips into the more comfortable 20s during the spring and autumn months.

Where to Stay

Originally a fishing village, Sa Coma is a purpose-built resort catering to families. Since the 1980s, the town has seen a steady growth in tourism and facilities catering to visitors from across Europe. As a result, there are plenty of modern three- and four-star hotels throughout Sa Coma. Many accommodation options in Sa Coma offer in-resort entertainment and fun. Top resorts include Hipotels Aparthotel Coma Gran, Protur Sa Coma Playa Hotel & Spa, and Protur Biomar Gran Hotel & Spa. For a self catering apartment, there are plenty of options in the neighbouring community of S’illot.

Attractions & Events

Perfect for building sandcastles and relaxing by the crystal clear waters of the sea, Sa Coma’s exceptional Blue Flag beach is about a kilometre long. There are plenty of empty stretches along the half-moon shaped bay to enjoy the seaside without crowds. The shallow and calm waters are ideal for swimming, pedalo rides and snorkelling.

In town, enjoy tapas at a restaurant along the beachside promenade. For families, most restaurants offer children’s menus. There is also go-karting and a mini-golf course within walking distance of the beach. Nearby, the Punta de n’Amer nature reserve is a great spot for a hike. Further afield, the bustle of Palma is just a 90-minute drive away. The capital’s old town offers stunning Arabic architecture. Palma is also home to an imposing Gothic cathedral and 14th-century Belver Castle, Europe’s first circular castle.
